Air Mauritius was incorporated in June 1967. Today, the airline flies to the main European, Asian and African destinations and service provided is levelled at international standards. In this way a tradition was instituted; paradoxically, a tradition made up of the constant need to evolve towards always renewed horizons.
Air Mauritius flies some 850,000 passengers to about 30 destinations. The National Carrier operate with five Airbus A340-300, two Airbus A319-100, two Boeing 767 ER, one ATR 72-500, 2 ATR 42-500 and three Bell Range helicopters.
The National Carrier contributes significantly to the export-oriented Mauritian economy. Air Mauritius Cargo carries some 42,000 tons yearly and, in the perspective of increased transit activities, the storage capacities have already been increased by 25%.
Air Mauritius maintains its commitment to high quality service. Because the Mauritian carrier acts as an ambassador for the country and reveals the image of its people. Those who fly Air Mauritius realise that multiple elements in its offices and on board celebrate "L'Esprit de l'Ile Maurice", the Soul of Mauritius. This concept tries to express the blend of an innate sense of human encounter with the urge to improve constantly.
