The Bay Club at Anahita, Mauritius

Anahita is genuinely one of Mauritius's most underrated resorts, and it deserves far more attention than it gets. There is so much to recommend it.

Accommodation ranges from one and three-bedroom suites to one and two-bedroom villas and three to five-bedroom luxury villas. Interiors are modern with generous living areas, designer kitchens, and private swimming pools with deck and seating. Space is abundant, even for larger families.

The villas lend the resort a relaxed marina or club atmosphere. Two infinity edge swimming pools with service, a relaxation pool, beach, cool bar, boutique, coffee shop, kids' and teens' clubs, spa, and restaurants are all on hand. Service and dining are genuinely first-rate and hold their own against the island's most exclusive addresses. There is also the option of retreating to your suite for dining, whether through room service, a private chef, or self-catering. The team will even stock your fridge ahead of arrival.

The only past criticism was a somewhat limited beach, but this has been more than resolved. Guests now have access to a beautiful, quiet stretch of sand on Ile aux Cerfs, reached by a short, scenic boat ride across the lagoon with stunning views of the coastline and mountains. Drinks and snacks are available there too.

For those who want to stay active, there is a wide choice of water and land sports, including complimentary golf at both Anahita and Ile aux Cerfs courses, plus adventures at nearby Domaine de l'Etoile.

Anahita suits couples, families, and golfers alike. There really is no better value in the five-star bracket.

Nestled on the east coast of Mauritius, opposite Ile aux Cerfs, Anahita The Resort sits within 213 hectares of tropical gardens, surrounded by an 18-hole Ernie Els-designed golf course. The heart of the resort is a lively waterfront village with a boutique, coffee shop, fitness centre, wellbeing lounge, spa, golf clubhouse, kids' and teens' clubs, swimming pool, tennis courts, and water sports.

Dining offers variety: themed buffet evenings at Origine, traditional Italian dishes at Il Forno Trattoria, or the option of a private chef or in-suite dining in your villa.

Please note that essential maintenance works are scheduled for August 2026. Anahita Golf will close from 3-5 August, and Ile aux Cerfs course from 10-12 August. Golf carts are compulsory and chargeable at Ile aux Cerfs Golf Club from October to April.
