Trou Aux Biches Beachcomber Resort & Spa, Mauritius
Our Opinion
Trou Aux Biches enjoys an enviable position on Mauritius's north west coast, set within lush tropical gardens along a two-kilometre stretch of beach overlooking a calm, sunset-facing lagoon.
The suites are arranged in crescent formations around a central pool, with Beachfront Pool Suites closest to the water and the two- and three-bedroom villas set further back in private walled gardens. Every room category feels modern and spacious, with stylish interiors, and the range of configurations works particularly well for families.
Activities are plentiful: tennis, a fitness centre, mountain biking, water skiing, windsurfing, and an on-site dive centre, all either on the lagoon or nearby. The kids' and teens' clubs are well run, and the spa has 17 treatment cabins. Mont Choisy golf course is just a short distance away, and Trou Aux Biches guests get preferential green fees, buggies, and return transfers. There is also a programme of free activities including live cooking classes and pool games, plus evening entertainment with live music, traditional dance, and DJ sets.
For dining, there are six restaurants and two bars. Mahiya, serving Indian cuisine, is our personal favourite. An optional All Inclusive package can help keep costs under control.
Trou Aux Biches is a well-established resort that genuinely offers something for everyone. It represents good value for money and earns its place on our Highly Recommended list.
