C Mauritius, Mauritius

Our Opinion
C Mauritius brings a refreshingly contemporary energy to Mauritius, pairing a laid-back beach-club atmosphere with a genuine commitment to activity, wellness, and social connection. Perched on a lovely stretch of Palmar Beach on the east coast, it's an especially good fit for active couples, groups of friends, and anyone seeking a more modern, informal take on a beach holiday.

The look and feel here is light, stylish, and refreshingly unstuffy — spacious, bright rooms and well-designed communal areas create a relaxed but polished ambience. The Deluxe rooms are particularly appealing, with a chic beach-club aesthetic that prioritises comfort and character over stuffy formality. For a resort of this size, the facilities are genuinely impressive: three swimming pools, an excellent spa and wellness centre, and an extensive programme of complimentary land and water sports.

Dining is one of the resort's real strengths, with a creative, flexible approach that adds plenty of personality. The picnic basket concept lets guests enjoy lunch wherever they fancy around the resort, and the poolside wine tasting sessions capture C Mauritius's playful, sociable spirit beautifully. Evening entertainment is relaxed rather than flashy — think music and DJs creating a friendly atmosphere rather than a full production show.

Thanks to the consistent breezes along this part of the coast, C Mauritius is a standout destination for kite surfing, whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced rider. The same conditions mean it can be breezier than resorts on the west or north coasts, but this keeps temperatures comfortable and reinforces the resort's energetic, outdoorsy character.

Dinner options are a little more limited than you'd find at larger resorts, and the windier east-coast setting is worth knowing about, but these are minor notes against the excellent value, vibrant atmosphere, and strong activity offering.

Overall, C Mauritius is a fun, contemporary resort that works brilliantly for travellers wanting a social, active holiday. It's a top pick for kite surfers and just as appealing for anyone who prefers a relaxed beach-club vibe over a more traditional luxury experience.
