Shangri-La's Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius

Our Opinion
Shangri-La's Le Touessrok occupies one of Mauritius's most distinctive settings. Set on the east coast with beautiful views across Trou d'Eau Douce Bay, this resort has built a reputation that precedes itself. It is one of the most recognised names in Mauritian hospitality, and for good reason.

The accommodation is spacious, the service is consistently excellent, and the facilities are exceptional. The Givenchy Spa is genuinely indulgent, the kids' club is outstanding, and the overall package attracts a loyal following of repeat guests. That popularity comes at a premium. In Mauritius's fiercely competitive five-star market, better value can certainly be found elsewhere. But a stay at Le Touessrok is not something you are likely to regret.
Summary
Perched on the eastern shore of Mauritius with sweeping views across Trou d'Eau Douce Bay, Shangri-La's Le Touessrok Resort & Spa has earned its place among the island's most prestigious luxury escapes. This five-star property, a member of Leading Hotels of the World, combines a spectacular coastal setting with the kind of refined service that keeps guests coming back year after year.

Just offshore, the resort's private lagoon gives way to two enchanting islands. Ilot Mangenie and Ile aux Cerfs are both reachable by a short boat trip, with the latter playing host to Le Touessrok's own 18-hole championship golf course, one of the finest in Mauritius.

Getting there is straightforward. The resort lies 46 km (around 50 minutes) from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport, and Port Louis is roughly 45 km (50 minutes) away. The championship course at Belle Mare Plage is just 20 minutes from the resort.

Accommodation is spacious and beautifully appointed, ranging from elegant rooms and suites to three extraordinary waterfront villas. These villas, which opened in 2005, redefined the standard for luxury in Mauritius, offering exceptional space and cutting-edge amenities for the most exacting tastes. Dining is a highlight, with five restaurants serving a range of cuisines, while the renowned Givenchy Spa and personal butler service elevate the experience further. Children are wonderfully looked after, and the resort's extensive water sports and land activities ensure there is always something to do.
