Since opening in 1998, the Residence has recaptured the elegance and style of a 1920s colonial retreat, set on one of Mauritius's most beautiful east coast beaches. The hospitality is exceptional, matched by luxurious facilities that create a genuinely welcoming atmosphere.

Dining is a standout, blending Western dishes with Mauritian specialities. The range of water and land sports is extensive, and the spa is exquisite. It is spacious and well appointed, offering a vast array of treatments.

The Residence occupies a mile-long stretch of immaculate white sand on Mauritius's east coast, surrounded by tropical gardens. The design is inspired by turn-of-the-century colonial plantation houses, with refined decor, wooden shutters, and muted tones of white, beige and mushroom throughout. An impressive butler service adds a distinctly old-world charm.

The oversized rooms and suites are elegantly understated, with honey-coloured wood, wrought iron accents and sandy coloured tiles. Hotel facilities include a swimming pool, children's pool, jacuzzi, fitness equipment, steam room, sauna, boutique shops, a beauty salon and a hairdresser. There are three floodlit tennis courts and a wide range of complimentary watersports including waterskiing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, paddle boats and snorkelling.

Dining spans several outlets. The colonial-style Bar serves breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktails. The Dining Room offers panoramic ocean views for breakfast and fine dining in the evenings. The Verandah overlooks the pool with light dishes, sandwiches and pizzas. The Plantation is a spectacular oceanfront venue for fresh seafood and Mauritian Creole cuisine. A Gourmet Kiosk by the pool serves waffles, pancakes and ice creams.

The Sanctuary spa features eight treatment rooms dedicated to stress relief and holistic wellbeing. The Planters Kids Club welcomes children aged 3 to 12 with indoor and outdoor play areas supervised by trained staff.
