Shanti Maurice Resort & Spa, Mauritius

Shanti Maurice occupies 36 acres on the south coast of Mauritius, nestled between sugar cane fields and the turquoise waters of the Indian ocean.

The suites and villas all face towards the ocean and the pristine white beach and are among the most generously proportioned in Mauritius. The villas all have private pools and are surrounded by exotic private gardens, terraces and courtyards.

There are plenty of dining options, with the emphasis on fresh, locally-sourced seafood and other produce from the resort's kitchen garden.

While the children are entertained at the kids' club, grown-ups can enjoy a range of activities such as yoga, beach volleyball, snorkelling, kayaks, tennis, golf (putting green) and a gym. There is also a well-stocked library, plus of course the bars and restaurants to pass the time in. Many off-site activities are available, including horse riding, big game fishing, scuba diving, quad biking and more.

For further indulgence and relaxation, the Shanti Spa occupies 7,000m² - one of the largest spas in the Indian ocean.
