FUTURE GROWTH
During 2003 Emirates will launch a number of new routes including Brisbane, Auckland, Shanghai and Lagos. Emirates will welcome its first ultra long-range Airbus A340-500 aircraft to its fleet in October 2003. This aircraft will feature brand new seat designs in First and Business Class and the inflight entertainment system will undergo a major upgrade across all classes with a sophisticated “Video on Demand” system including a choice of 150 movie and 100 audio channels.
During the 2003 Paris Air Show Emirates placed the biggest aircraft order in civil aviation – worth US$19 billion. The airline confirmed purchase orders for 21 more Airbus A380-800s, and leasing orders for two A380-800s. The additional 23 aircraft bring Emirates’ total order for the giant double-deck jetliner to 45, the most ordered by any airline.
FLEET
The airline’s fleet is comprised of the most modern and comfortable aircraft available and currently consists of Boeing 777’s and Airbus A330’s and A310’s. During 2003, Emirates will welcome its first ultra-long range Airbus A340-500 to its fleet allowing the airline to fly all the way from Dubai to Sydney non-stop. This aircraft will feature brand new seat designs in First and Business Class and an upgraded in-flight entertainment system across all classes with a sophisticated ‘Video on Demand’ system including a choice of 150 movie and 100 audio channels.

The lower level of each lounge features spacious, carpetted sitting area, an elegant dining area and a separate section where travellers may watch a choice of satellite channels on 42 inch plasma screens. Specially designed massage chairs can help you relax between flights. Well-appointed shower rooms are available if you want to freshen up.
FIRST AND BUSINESS CLASS DUBAI CHECK-IN
Emirates offers a space-age check-in lounge, dubbed “The Emirates Express” for First and Business Class passengers as well as Skywards Gold and Silver members at Dubai International Airport. It is the only airport offering a separate terminal facility exclusively for premium class traffic and has been especially designed to speed outbound passengers onto flights with as little inconvenience as possible.
